1st GRADE- 2009

Today we said goodbye to summer of '09 and hello to 1st grade at Nativity Catholic School. Sebastien changed schools this year and is very very excited. A little craziness trying to get up and out the door. We were use to staying in bed and wearing our PJ's till noon...or just putting on bathing suits by 8 am every morning this summer. As usual, I cried a little. That just can't be helped.
I am celebrating the first day by waiting for a plumber, cleaning, and then grocery shopping. I may just put on my bathing suit for the hell of it.

Summer...don't leave yet!

One week until school starts. This summer is gone in a blink of an eye:( It has been fun...busy..fast..too short! We made it to Michigan the last week of July ad really enjoyed the weather and family. I loved going for walks with a pep in my step and Bash loved playing without sweating to death. I hate flying but it was worth it.
Sebastien and I have made it to the beach a few times and the waterpark nearly everyday. I sound like I am whinning but I love the freedom that summer brings.
Next week mom and I are heading to the beach for a little last minute sunning for two days. I can't wait and Bash loves hotels so he can't wait. The ice machine is always a big hit!
Bet you can't wait...my next post will be bitching about the school schedule!

MORE LAZY DAYS

Ahh, summer. We are getting into the long lazy days of summer. We have been living in swimsuits, eating watermelon and popsicles, and bascially doing much of nothing. LOVING IT.

I close my eyes when I see the school supplies in the store and head to the summer items that are alredy being clearanced.

Bash is a drowned rat at this point and his hair might be turning green from the chlorine. Between the waterpark, splash parks, beach and all of our friends pools, we manage to swim at least four hours a day! I can't think of anything else we have been doing. Next week we go north to Michigan where it is a cool 83 degrees out. It will be nice for the cousins to get together:)

Summer!!!!!!!!!

It's here....summer is here! Bash finished kindergarten and we are off to first grade.......but not for two months. Joe and I went to Mexico last week and had a great time except for the plane ride. I think we will swim over next time. Anyhoo, it was a blast.

Bash spent his first week of summer with Grammy. They had a ball swimming, golfing, hanging out, going to the movies....the perfect vacation. With Grammy here, I don't have to worry.

Today is my offical first day of summer with Sebastien. What better way to spend the day then at Hannah's pool party....the best thing is that we just walk next door:)

Rain and Orlando

So we are totally in vacation mode. Off to Orlando we went this Memorial Day weekend. We first wanted to take a trip down to the Keys but this crazy rain that has lasted for the past 12 days prevented that from happening. Bash was just as happy with a trip to Disney and Universal. I think we are addicted to IOA and Universal. We have yearly passes and go alot, staying at the Portifino (my favorite hotel). Glad we got in a quick trip because Joe and I are off to Mexico this Sat.. CAN'T WAIT. We haven't gone away in a few years...just him and I. It is time.

4 days left of school and Bash and I can hang out at the beach.....shhhh, don't tell Joe...he has to work so Sebastien and I can goof off all summer :)

summer is almost here!

Wow.....two weeks until the end of kindergarten. Are you kidding me? We are excited about some lazy days of summer but does he have to be out of kindergarten already. I am not ready for serious school. Big changes this year in Bash...he is so tall, 6 yrs old and lost three teeth. The top front tooth came out the last week...he looks so old now.
Anyhoo, life is flying by. Grammy finally graduated so we may see her more, Mimi and Papi are now in retirement, Suz is getting married soon,Joe turned 40, Sean turned 40, Bash is smarter than me, Joe and I are going to Mexico....Swine flu and all.
So thing are good. I promise myself to update this blog more....after all it is more of a journal for Sebastien when he is older. I just forget about it all the time:)

Up Till Now

I am always catching up...I only have one child, one husband, one cat, 100 snakes and I never have time. Anyhoo........lets see...Kindergarten in flying by at some crazy speed. Joe turned 40 last week and we are now on Spring Break. Funny thing about spring break....I love it. While most parents hate it because the kids are around all day, I live for spring break and summer. Today we rolled out of bed around 8:00....that NEVER happens...we are going to just hang out, fill some easter eggs and then go play outside for like 5 hours. Next week we will hit the beach, park, zoo, and aquarium.......if we feel like it.
We went to the last Lightning game of the season yesterday. Bash loves to go to socialize...not sure if he really cares about the game. Well...I gotta run to get ready for the Bunny coming in three days.

Happy 6th Birthday, Sebastien!

The big day is here...Bash is six years old today. We had a great party at MOSI last Sat. The kids got to make secret messages and fireballs that shot across the room. It was pretty cool. Yesterday I spent the morning making 25 cupcakes and 25 goody bags for the kindergarten class..Bash was so excited about bringing them in today. We are going to have a little get together this afternoon with more cupcakes (harry potter) , popcorn , the neighbor kids, and Christopher and Nicholas. I feel like we have been celebrating for days!!

100 DAY

Hooray, Hooray...it is 100 day. Actually I was a little sad today...it is all going by so fast. Bash had a great celebration in class today for 100 day. I volunteered and the kids had a fantastic time. They had 100 balloons in class, a scavenger hunt, snacks, activities, a parade through school....you name it.
Since Christmas break, Bash has really caught on to so much. He is reading pretty good. (he is getting a little cocky by wanting to read the newspaper) He likes to try to write sentences and the best is when he sounds out the bad words that Joe and I spell, us thinking he doesn't spell yet.
Next week he will be six already. Now that I think about it, I have some last minute to-do items on the birthday party list.

Updates

Bash is going to be six in a few weeks so I am busy planning a party at MOSI. We normally have humongous party's but this year I figured we need to start taming them down little. We've gone from 40 kids to 15 and I love it. It now seems manageable. Back in the fall, we let Sebastien watch Harry Potter and he thought it was really cool. So, Harry Potter is our theme and the kids are doing some kind of potion class at MOSI. I was going t have it at home but I want to enjoy my new floors just for a few more weeks before kids destroy them.

Bash is doing well in school. We just got finished with his first research project....in Kindergarten. It was on the puffer fish. He had to present it to the class and I was all over his ass to rehearse it with Joe and I but he just wouldn't do it. Turns out he remembered everything and he said he did great.

Here are some random pics from the last few months.

The Big Top

Sebastien and I met Joe down at the Forum last night . The circus was in town and we went to a party before the it began. Loved the party. Bash had his face painted like an elephant and got a "Sonic" balloon from the balloon guy. He picked Sonic because the Henry's older son got him , so Bash had to do what the big kids did. I can't beleive he passed over Spiderman for Sonic.
The circus was fun, strange in some ways. They did some crazy things with clowns being stretched apart, sawed apart, electrocuted, and trapped in some sort of metal. I figured out that I am also allergic to elephants, horses, and zebras. Sebastien and I went to go look at the animals before the circus began and I couldn't stop sneezing for the rest of the night!
I'm glad we went....Bash wanted popcorn for breakfast this morning.

Last Day Off

Bash and I had a great day off today. I blew off putting away the last of the Christmas decorations, cleaning out the fridge, and organizing all the crap around the house. We went to lunch and then to a movie...Bolt. It was so nice to goof off all day.

New Year... 2009

I haven't written in this blog since August..I really can't believe where the time has gone. I don't think I want to dwell on 2008...it had some challenges for everyone, family and friends. I am going to start new...right now.
Day three...Jan. 3rd............everything is just fine in 2009.
