Halloween 2006

What a great night we had! Sebastien and Hannah trick-a treated around the whole neighborhood as Mommy, Daddy and Michelle (Hannah's Aunt) pulled them in the wagon. Bash dressed up in his alligator costume and Daddy wore his 1980's rockstar wig. Joe brought out one of our snakes and the kids in the neighborhood loved touching it. You gotta love Halloween in Florida...you can just sit outside your house in 70 degree weather with tiki torches and jack-o-lanterns all around you! I love Halloween.

What I learned today: There is such a thing as eating too much candy.

A Very Long Evening

Last night went something like this...

Joe comes home a little early to watch a movie with Bash and carve pumpkins. Joe goes upstairs and notices the snake cage open.....so much for family time watching a movie. Sebastien comes running downstairs screaming for a flashlight because Butterscotch is loose. (Butterscotch is our 4 foot snake) After I recover from the shock, I get the boys flashlights. Sebastien admits to opening the cage when his friend was over that morning, so the snake has been out for about 9 hours. I try not to panic and join in on the hunt. (there is no way I will sleep with a 4 foot snake slithering around)

One hour later....no snake

Two hours later.....no snake

Three hours later....... every stone unturned, refrigerator moved, closets emptied, Joe pissed, Kristyn worried, Sebastien (who is now asleep) moved out of his room so we can hunt through the mass of toys......we find Butterscotch.

He was in Sebastien's top dresser drawer, under a pile of clothes.

What I learned today: I need a lock for the snake cages.

Halloween Party

Last evening was Sebastien's 2nd Annual Halloween Party at our house. We had a pirate, an alligator, spiderman, a cowboy, skeletons, a spider, a fairy, a pink poodle, a ghost, Tinkerbell, Minnie Mouse, a few Ninjas, and much more at the house. The kids had a blast hitting the pinata, picking out a treat from the treasure chest, and making a Mummy out of two of the dads. (Thanks Jason and Steven!) The kids loved rolling down the hill and walking on the boat path. Joe put on a snake exhibit for the kids and they loved it. They finished off the evening with spider cupcakes and a sugar high. Can't wait till next year!!!!!

What I learned today: Why sew a costume when there is Ebay..

Sugar High

I am not sure Bash will sleep tonight. As we were stuffing the pinata for the big Halloween party at our house tomorrow night....every other piece of candy went into Sebastien's mouth. Not to mention the peanut butter Buckeyes that Bash, Nicholas, and Hannah ate as Patty was trying to make them. Let us not forget the ten Twizzlers he snagged out of the candy bowl! If he falls asleep before ten..I consider myself lucky today!

What I learned today: WD-40 gets crayon off of walls, clothes, and floors

Evening Prayers

Last night Sebastien's prayer went something like this.....

"God bless Mommy, God bless Daddy, God bless Grammy, God bless Uncle Sean and Uncle Tim, Mimi and Popi, Ali, God bless Aunt Suzi, God bless Hannah, God bless the toy store, God bless Nicholas, Mrs. Hight".....

Unbelievable.

What Cats???

Crime Scene: The laundry room

Suspect: Sebastien

Potential Victims: Spencer and Zeppy (our cats)

Crime: unknowingly attempting to poison the cats

Witness: Joe...aka Daddy

Weapon: Apple scented spray-on hair gel

Description: The day started with Sebastien spraying hair gel on the cats food and potty. He didn't think he would be caught but daddy got suspicious when he heard some noises coming from the laundry room. Bash was caught red-handed with the substance but did try to conceal it by throwing it behind him. He pleaded guilty and apologized to Zeppy for almost killing her.

Punishment: A very unhappy phone call to Santa

The 3 Day

Today Sebastien and I met up with Amy and Jack to go see Grammy in The 3 Day walk for Breast Cancer. With the boys in the back seat, Amy driving, and me on the look out ...we found Grammy and Tess in a sea of people all dressed in pink. They were up at the front of the pack! We all hopped out at the corner and held posters and cheered them on. Bash had a great time yelling out the window and waving to the walkers as Amy honked the horn. It was great going and showing our support for them and the fight against breast cancer. It was a great morning with Amy and Jack!

What I learned today: The sound of Sebastien falling down a flight of stairs is the loudest sound I have ever heard. (don't worry, he is okay)

Alligator, Ghost, Alligator,Ghost, Iron Man,Ghost,etc....

Sebastien has been saying he wants to be a ghost for Halloween this year. But his best buddy Nicholas is going to be an alligator. Nicholas's Na-Na bought Bash the same alligator costume because Sebastien just had to have one also. We had our pictures taken in the alligator costume because Bash wanted to be that for Halloween. Now he has to be a ghost. So, tomorrow I am going to try my hand at making a ghost costume. Yes, I know I could just use a sheet draped over him but I feel the need to make it the best ghost costume ever! Hopefully I can learn how to sew by the weekend and hopefully he doesn't change his mind and want to be Iron Man.

What I learned Today: Sebastien loves to talk more than me.

More Snakes

I am losing control of the household....Joe and Bash (yes, Sebastien wants another Butterscotch) ordered four more yellow snakes. I'm not sure if we will ever have company again...

What I learned today: Ladies....never agree to have a pet snake...they multiply!!

False Teeth

Sebastien loves to get a laugh from anyone.....
We just got back from a trip to Costco and Publix where he had to wear fake teeth in the store. Not just plain fake ones but big, neon orange teeth with fangs that he got from a birthday party goody bag! (Thanks, Amy!) The more people laughed at and with him, the longer he kept them in his mouth. While he entertained the people in the aisles...I got my shopping done!

What I learned today: Always check pockets before heading out in public.

Sleeping In...

For the past month, Sebastien has been sleeping in on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Usually he bursts into mommy and daddy's room with a smile between 6:45 and 7:15 A.M. (especially on weekends) But on Tues. and Thurs. , Bash comes in our room very cranky and sleepy between 7:45 and 7:55.
This normally would be a blessing , except T & Th are school days. By the time Mr. Happy Pants gets up , we only have 10 minutes to eat, dress, and get out the door. ( we have to be out the door at 8:05) At first I thought it was a coincidence but now it is a pattern. If I wake him up before he is ready......trouble!!! It really is amazing how much three year olds act like teenagers.

What I learned today: I need to hide the christmas presents better!

A Long, Fun Weekend!

Sebastien and I went with Jill and Jack to the aquarium today. The boys had so much fun playing in the water area after looking at fish and sharks. After a good hour of chasing them around the pirate ship and slide, Jill bribed them with ice cream just so we could get out of the sun and sit down. It was a fun afternoon and now I am officially tired from going to the Zoo on Friday morning, fundraiser with Joe Friday night, Reptile Show Sat. morning, MOSI (Museum of Science and Industry) Sat. afternoon, Aquarium Sun. morning , and then grocery shopping Sun. afternoon. I pray Sebastien goes to bed early tonight!

What I learned today: How to turn on the new T.V. without messing up all the settings.
